ERADICATING HAMAS
- January 12, 2009
It now seems clear the last disastrous act of the Bush administration was giving Israel a green light to launch its final solution campaign against the Hamas government in Gaza.

Just when we thought it was impossible for this calamitous president and Svengali Dick Cheney to do any more damage to the world or to America’s interests, they loosed one final Parthian shaft into the heart of the Mideast.

Another, earlier fool, Secretary of State Alexander Haig, gave Israel’s Ariel Sharon a green light in 1982 to invade Lebanon and crush the Palestine Liberation Organization(PLO). Israel’s guns and bombs pounded large parts of besieged Beirut to rubble.  The invasion was a disaster and led to the deaths of 18,000 to 20,000 Lebanese and Palestinians, and the massacres of 2,000 Palestinians at Sabra and Shatilla refugee camps by Israel’s neo-fascist Lebanese allies, and the death of 247 US servicemen.

Osama bin Laden noted a few years ago that the 9/11 attacks on New York were in direct retaliation for Israel’s brutal bombardment and destruction of downtown Beirut.  Not surprisingly, the US media ignored this story.

In 2006, the Bush administration worked out a plan with Israel to again invade Lebanon, crush Hezbullah, then go on to attack Syria and Iran.  This plan, like other American-Israeli machinations, collapsed in ignominy.  Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, struggled to prevent the UN and world powers from ending Israel’s attack on Lebanon, which killed over 1,000 civilians and inflicted billions of damage on Lebanon.  But Hezbullah’s  unexpectedly effective resistance turned the invasion into a US-Israeli defeat.

Now, she has been at it again in Gaza, attempting to thwart efforts by the UN, EU and other powers to end the massacre there. Once again, America has covered itself with shame and hypocrisy.  Shame and hypocrisy only exceeded by America and Israel’s co-conspirator in the Gaza siege, Egypt, which has barred the only escape route from the hell of besieged, starved Gaza.

President-elect Barack Obama, who is regarded by many around the globe as a savior, has only issued a few platitudes about the Gaza massacre.  He did not hesitate to comment on the attack on Mumbai and other world issues, but his lack of response to the savaging of Gaza could be a dismaying portent of more of the bloody same in the Mideast.

So far, over 900 Palestinians have been killed and 3,500 seriously wounded.  Three Israeli civilians are dead. The psychic wounds inflicted on 1.5 million cowering civilians subjected to 1,000 and 2,000 lb bombs, 155mm artillery shells, cluster munitions, heavy mortar fire, air to ground missiles, white phosphorus, and high power tank shells cannot be described.

Gaza has very few basements.  Its people cower in apartments and buildings, never knowing when a bomb will crash through the roof or a tank shell through the wall.  According to the UN, before the latest crisis, 70% of Palestinian children in Gaza suffered from emotional disorders as well as malnutrition.

Israel’s goal remains to eradicate Hamas and kill as many of its members before world outrage finally forces a cease-fire.  Once Hamas is crushed, the lapdog Fatah organization, which is financed by the US and Israel, will remain the sole voice of Palestinians.  Fatah’s yes-men will then agree to the US-Israeli plan for the West Bank, which recognizes Israel’s retention of its useful parts, and leaves millions of Palestinians squeezed into Israeli-policed tribal enclaves, or Bantustans.  In short, little versions of Gaza.   Hamas kept refusing to recognize Israel until Israel recognized the rights of millions of Palestinian refugees.

The strategy of Hamas is simply to survive and continue to defy Israel and its allies.  The homemade rockets still being fired by Hamas are an act of foolhardy but determined defiance.

The US-Israeli-Egyptian-British plan to eradicate Hamas, which is the Arab world’s only democratically elected government, has another important objective.  Hamas was founded in 1987 by a group of Islamic charities linked to Egypt’s venerable Muslim Brotherhood movement.   The new Hamas movement gained widespread popular support by promising to defend Palestinian rights to their lost lands and by providing a broad range of social welfare to destitute Palestinian refugees subsisting in squalid slums.

Hamas, in essence, is a democratic revolutionary movement that threatens all of the Mideast’s US-backed dictatorships and monarchies.  Its biggest threat is to Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood remains the unofficial opposition to the regime of President Husni Mubarak, who has ruled his nation with an iron fist for 28 years.

Mubarak’s dictatorship is the keystone of US domination of the MideastEgypt holds almost a third of the Arab world’s total population.  Gen. Mubarak is now 81.  Egypt faces regime change soon.  The last thing Washington wants is for Hamas’ revolutionary ideas and zeal to infect Egypt’s quiescent, non-violent Muslim Brotherhood, the main opposition to Mubarak, and risk seeing the US-backed Cairo regime replaced by a nationalist or Islamist government.

So it was essential, in the US-Israeli-Egyptian view, to once and all crush the Hamas movement and keep Gaza’s Palestinians – who were ethnically cleansed from their homes in what became Israel in 1948 – safely penned up in the Gaza prison.  A high-ranking Vatican official just called Gaza a `concentration camp.’

Israel has been remarkably successful in barring the world’s eyes from the carnage in Gaza.  But when journalists and cameras finally do get in, there will be even more international outrage against Israel’s brutality.  No matter.  The world, including the ineffectual regimes running so many Arab states, have proven helpless in the face of Israeli ruthlessness and US interference to end the agony of the Gaza Palestinians.  Contrast the UN’s helplessness over Gaza to its condemnations against Iraq’s late, lynched Saddam Hussein.

As I said last week, Israel is handing a `fait accompli’ to President Barack Obama.  Its squabbling politicians primarily launched this war to boost their chances in upcoming elections, but also to destroy Hamas while their protector, George Bush, was still in the White House.

A short-term success, perhaps. But these Israeli politicians will pay a heavy price in the long term for this slash and burn policy.  The world will turn further against Israel and see it, as too many critics claim, as a brutal oppressor.  Comparisons with the Warsaw ghetto uprising will inevitably be made.  More important, any hope for a real peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors has been set back for years.

Equally, America will be blamed for the carnage in Gaza. In my latest book, `American Raj – America and the Muslim world,’ I try to explain why there is so much anger and hatred directed in there against the United States.  Gaza is now exhibit `A.’

While our media mostly repeats Israel’s side of the argument, people across the Muslim world hear nightly of Gaza’s agony and horror – and will soon see TV footage.  Everyone knows the F-16’s, helicopter gunships, and self-propelled heavy artillery raining death on Gaza come from the US courtesy of American  taxpayers.  Everyone knows the White House has been blocking action to succor the Palestinians and ordering its Arab satrap regimes to stay quiet – or, as in the case of Egypt, keep the prison gates locked.

If 9/11 was payback for Beirut, 1982, then the next attack on the US or its citizens abroad will likely be labled, `Gaza.’

Egypt Regime crooks wants the deal with Israeil delivering Gas from red sea and not Hamas to get the deal with BG Company pumping it out their coast. I guess it easier for Isreal to screw over all three party and take all the Gas fields for them self. Egypt Government is a bunch of Rich Crooks who stealing from the poor Egyptian people. Egypt makes Billions in Tourism, Sue Canal, Gas fields and Billion USA gives them each year. I see with my own Eyes how people living in Egypt millions living in City of the dead homeless cementary. Why won't anyone wise up and realize that the Jews own this bitch? Despite all of the Holocost memorials and commemorations, movies about German aggression (i.e. "Defiance"), and constant charges of anti-semitism, the Jews have the West on lockdown. For example, Bernie Madoff is still not in jail. Why is that? The police are only now getting around to searching his apartment. Israel has no credible enemy in the Middle East. Iran? A figment of some Israeli child's bedtime story. A Palestinian friend of mine told me that Hamas was actually started by the Israelis to be a counterbalance to the PLO. The only problem was Dr. Frankenstein couldn't control his monster and Hamas grew out of control. Obama's already had to bend over and spread his buttcheeks for the Israel lobby since being elected. Why would we expect him to be any different from Bush when he met with Jewish groups at least five times during the presidential campaigns to assure, reassure , and then reassure them again of his undying loyalty to Israel. The British are no different. Wake up, folks. The Palestinian slaughter will continue unabated as long as it profitable for the US and Israeli defense industry and serves the purpose of furthering the myth that, at any given moment, some big, bad boogeyman's going to jump up and kill all of the Jews.

thank you Mr Margolis, below is the e mail I sent to Harper and opposition leaders.
Its a shame to read statements from conservative's as well as liberals in response to gaza crisis. you could fool canadian and american people 10 years ago. but now with so much information and so clear eveidence its just showing the double standards and bias of both ruling and opposition parties. this double standard is the actual reason of all that hate and alienation all around the world. supporting israel's wire crimes is not helping isralel but it will harm everyone. as prominent jewish pianist Anton Kuerti said during press conference
"I am not an expert on what is a war crime but I can recognize one when I see one ...
"What if almost a thousand Israelis had been killed by F-16s and helicopters and 1,000-pound bombs? There'd be immense outrage throughout the world ...
"Israel's behaviour makes me ashamed of being a Jew, and Canada's servile support of the United States position – `it's all Hamas' fault' – makes me ashamed of being a Canadian"
I am not saying I am ashamed of being Canadian but I will say I am ashamed of my politicians and government on taking that stand.
If there were 970 dogs killed by Israeli bombs I think your statements would be different. that shows what kind of standards you have. see the attached pictures.

The Human Rights Council has adopted a resolution in which it strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli military operation in Gaza, which had resulted in massive violations of human rights of the Palestinian people, and demanded the occupying power, Israel, to immediately withdraw its military forces from Gaza. Well, the only country to oppose this resolution was CANADA!

The result of the vote was as follows:

In favour (33):Angola, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Chile, China, Cuba, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Qatar, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, Uruguay, and Zambia.

Against (1):Canada.

My letter to my local MP,

To Daryl Kramp
Member of Parliament.
Hastings Prince Edward constituency.

Dear Mr. Kramp, I am writing to you as a very concerned constituent regarding the developing situation in Gaza.
As of now the death toll since the Israeli action started is around 800 Palestinians killed, most of them civilians including
women and children, and around 20 Israelis with no end to the conflict in sight. Whereas I accept that this is a complex
problem with issues on both sides of the argument, killing is never the solution to a problem like this and in actual fact
will always make the problem much worse. The firing of rockets by Hamas into Israel is deplorable, but the Israeli response
to it has been disproportionate. A largely defenseless population, herded into a small blockaded strip of land with no escape, is being
systematically attacked by F16 strike aircraft, Helicopter gunships, 2000lb bombs and phosphorus munitions.

This killing HAS to stop, in the British parliament discussion is going on as to whether the Israeli action amounts to a war crime and whether
to expel the Israeli ambassador, you can read about
that here:- http://timesonline.typepad.com/politics/2009/01/israeli-pm-is-a.html

The quickest way to stop the killing now, is for the international community to put pressure on Israel to halt the offensive, i would like to
know if you have spoken to the Israeli ambassador to Canada about this situation, registered Canada's disapproval, and what other
measures you and the Harper government are taking to end the bloodshed.

Thank you,
Shazam

Mr. Margolis you are very wrong on Gaza and the Mideast.

1--Israel doesn't want to eradicate HAMAS as you claim.Israel , as a Jewish state , wants to portray itsself as a vanguard that defends the interests of the Christian , Western world AGAINST " FANATICAL MUSLIMS".FATEH , is a National Liberation Movement that involves BOTH CHRISTIAN and MUSLIM Palestinians.HAMAS, A MUSLIM ORGANIZATION, was propped up by Israel in 1987 when the first Intifada broke out.Ahmad Yassine , HAMAS Spirtual leader ,
was released from prison to Counter the infleunce of FATEH.Abu Jihad (Khalil El-Wazir), the mastermind behind the 1st Intifada and FATEH number 3 man, was assasinated by the Mossad in Tunisia.Israel's aim as an occupying force is to DIVIDE THE PALESTINIANS ACCORDING TO THE BRITISH GOLDEN RULE:DIVIDE AND RULE.SO THE DIVISION OF THE PALESTINIANS BETWEEN A WEST BANK CONTROLLED BY FATEH AND A GAZA CONTROLLED BY HAMAS SERVES THE ZIONISTS.

2--Israel WANTS TO DESTROY GAZA'S FEEBLE INFRASTRUCTURE AND FORCE THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE TO MOVE TO EGYPT.By bombing , schools , universities , Gas depots , the Jews belive that by compounding Palestinain suffering , the Palestinians will pack up and leave.(They will not).

3--WHY DIDN'T YOU MENTION THAT MAHMOOD ABBAS ,THE CURRENT PALESTINIAN
LEADER, WAS ALSO DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED AS PRESIDENT BY THE MAJORITY OF PALESTINIAN PEOPLE?

4--Why didn't you mention that HAMAS performed a Coup d'etat against the Palestinian Authority and that they did this coup after the death of Yasser Arafat (Abu Ammar) who used to command the respect and support of the Majority of the Palestinian people?Abu Ammar
is belived to have been poisoned by the Israelis after refusing to concede to American and Jewsish demands concerning Jerusalem , settlements , and the Rights of Palestinian Refugees.

5--Egypt has a strong Army. The person who will come after Mubarak will be chosen by the Egyptian Armed Forces. So it will be Mubarak's son (Gamal) or a senior Army officer.

6--Have you asked yourself where is Khalid Mishaal , HAMAS Chief , currently residing?
He is in Syria that is controlled by Bashar El-Assad , an Alawi(Nusyari). The Nusyaris (who represent 9% of the Syrians and who are favored and discreetly backed by the Jewish Israelis because of their minoriterian , non Muslim status)worship Ali bin Abi Talib and belive in transmigration of Souls like the Hindus. They are not considered as Muslims by the Majority Sunni Syrians(77% of Syrians are Sunnis).Hafez Assad massacred 30000 Sunni Muslims in Hama in 1982 WHO BELONGED TO THE SYRIAN MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD. Ironically , Hamas also traces its origins to the Muslim Brothers. The Golan has been occupyed by
ISRAEL Since 1967 and the Nusayri Regime has been silent about it.In Contrast , Israel withdrew from ALL OF THE EGYPTIAN TERRETORIES.Why doesn't Khalid Mashaal ask Bashar Assad to open up the Golan Front and help the Gazans?

7--The Real Heros are not HAMAS in Gaza. They are the ORDINARY PALESTINIAN PEOPLE WHO WERE RIGHTLLY DESCRIBED BY THE GREAT YASSER ARAFAT AS THE "GRAET & GIGANTIC PEOPLE".

A NOTE ON THE MARGIN:

After the 1967 War, Golda Meir, The Israeli PM , asked: "Where are the Palestinians I can't see them?"

Today its 2009 .Between the Jordan River and the Mediterranian sea , there are 5 million Jews and 4.8 million Palestinians.Add to the latter 4.5 million refugess in Refugee camps in neighboring , Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

In 2050 ,Inside "Histrorical Palestine" , there will be 12 million Palestinians and 7.5 million Jews.

Israel can't use its nuclear arsenal on them because it will also be commiting national suicide.

Israel can't ethnically cleanse them by force beacuse this would cause hundreds of thousands of casualties , destablize Jordan and Egypt ,and the International Public Opinion wouldn't permit it.

The Palestinians and especially Gazans are not going to disappear as some Israelis wish.

ANOTHER NOTE ON THE MARGIN:

In Bibi Netenyahu's Book "Place Under the Sun" , the author who was serving in the early 1970's as a soldier in the Gaza Strip meets
a Palestinian Old Man and asks him:

"From where are you old man?"

The Palestinian answers: "I'm a refugee who was driven from my home in Majdel(currrently a town Inside Israel)"

Netenyahu then says:"Peace will come and you'll visit me in Israel and I'll visit you in Gaza."

To this ,the Old Man replies "When REAL PEACE COMES,I'LL RETURN TO MAJDELL AND YOU'RE GO BACK TO POLAND."

THIS IS THE REALITY OF THE ISRAELI-PALESTINAIN CONFLICT , MR. MARGOLIS..I'm confident that the "GREAT & GIGANTIC PALESTINIANS" WILL HAVE THE LAST WORD!!Demography is one their side.

I agree that non semetic people are coming from Europe, Russia and USA to steal land of the the true Semetic people like the Palestinian. Semetic Jews people have lived with Semetic Arabs for hundreds of years with no problem. Lets us not forget that they are blood related Ismael and Isaac same father Abraham.
If they would do a DNA on these fraud that are immigrating into Palestinian lands I bet 80% of them will show no Semetic blood in them at all.
The Arabs leader are scare to do anything they don't want to loose their oppresive regimes or wealth. Egypt and Turkey are pumping Gas and Oil to Israel and also water from Turkey.

They found tons of GAS of the coast of Gaza and Isreal wants it all. Middle east country have the power to stop the War machine if they realy wanted to by closing the Gas and Oil flow.

Hi Rayyan, The solution of these problems is not to play the blame game. It is more simple and honest: Viz: Stop the killing, Period-and "punish" the aggressor usually the one with the military advantage. "Punish "here means the de-militarization of the aggressive party by the world community-The Job of now useless UN was to settle all disputes without War and Bloodshed.

Yeah! so what, what's Gamal going to do. Is he waiting for the atomic device from Pakistan or maybe Pakistan can first give it to the Saudis and they can pass it along to the Egyptians and the Jordanians and they can then collectively threaten israel to let the poor Palestinians have what they want.

I'm not a fan of the Egyptian or Saudi Regimes. But I should be fair, Hosni Mubarak , was the Commander of the Egyptian AirForce in the 1973 war.In this war, Israel LOST 1/3 OF ITS AIR FORCE AND MORE THAN 1000 TANKS(Biggest battle involving Tanks since Kursk). The US back then, declared a Startegic Alert (raised DEFCOM Level on Nuclear Startegic Weapons),threatened the USSR not to intervene, and supplied the Israelis through an "air bridge" with military equipment.Anwar Saddat then made a witty remark "I don't want to fight the US".(Remember:when you go to war with Israel, you go to war withAmerica.).Egypt has lost 100,000 Soldiers and hundreds of billions of dollars(in the 1960's the Egyptian GDP was higher than that of South Korea!!) in the 5 wars it fought against Israel. They eventually "liberated" their land.War now is not a good Idea.If Egypt gets few nuclear warheads, then the balance of power would dramatically shift.

The Alawi Regime that controls Syria(and that is housing Khalid Mishaal) sold the Golan to the Israelis and the "Iskandarone Province" to the Turks.

What did Ahmadinejad, the Prez of Iran, who said that Israel must be wiped off the map do to Hamas and the Pakestinians?NOTHING.Actually ,when did the Persians EVER GO TO WAR AGAINST THE JEWS ??During the Iran-Iraq war , Khomieni was labeling Israel as the "lesser Satan" at a time when he was recieving military equipment from them(and from the Americans) in what came to be known as the Iran-Contra affair.

The Saudis are not perfect but they are(along with other Gulf States) the main supporters of the Palestinian people when it comes to money and financial help..

Fe comments are in order:
1: Origin sometimes has little relevance in big scheme of things- assuming Hamas was
a creation of israel, as you assert-it does not matter too much to the current situation.
To clarify my point, Musa [may God's Peace and Blessing be upon him] was brought up
in the house of Pharoah! Yet God used him as a vehicle to destroy the tyrant Pharoah-

2:You are right about divide and rule-but that may include or not include Hamas, in israel planning-so they may keep palestinians weak and divided, with or without Hamas-

3: Explanation about Hamas and Syria- You are right about Syria. The answer is:Syria is using Hamas desperate situation, for its advantage. For although palestinians are being terrorized, at the moment, the world is seeing the true colors of the zionist blood-thirsty policy. Thus Syria is using Hamas as a buffer and sacrificial lamb-Mubarak the tyrant is doing the same-

4: I wonder why the Eygptian masses do not rise up against Mubarak, who is the most ruthless dictator, any ideas?

The Syrian Alawi regime is the most faithful ally of Israel. In 1976 ,they entered Lebanon and attacked the PLO siding with the Christian Phalangits. In 1982, they massacred 30000 Sunni Muslims in the Syrian City of Hama who symapathized with the Syrian Muslim Brothers.
In 1985-7,they asked Amal Movement(Shiite Lebanese Group from which Hizballah splintered)to attack the Palestinian Refugee Camps killing 3500 Palestinians(Palestinians are overwhelmingly Sunni).

Hamas, that traces its origins to the Muslim Brotherhood , is siding with the Alawi regime that applies the death penality on any Syrian who adheres to the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood!!!The reason why Khalid Mishaal is doing this is that he is recieving money from the Iranians.HAmas, and after Arfats's death, DIVIDED THE PALESTINIANS...When Arafat was alive, they wouldn't have dared to challenge him.The Palestinian people used to call him "El-khityaar"(Old Man) the same way the Vietnamese called Ho-Chi Menh "Uncle".

When it comes to Brutality, the Syrian Alawis are much worse than Mubarak.Mubarak at least is a Sunni Muslim who belongs to the same religion as the majority of Egyptians. He didn't destroy a whole city butchering tens of thousands of Civilans like Hafiz Assad. He didn't sell the Golan to Israel and the Iskandarone Province to the Turks to remain in power. The Alawis- Nusyaris represent 9% of Syrians ONLY and are not considered Muslim by the Syrian Sunni Majority.
Mubarak is a dictator but Bashar and the Alawis are much worse. For example .In Egypt, the Muslim Brothers are allowed to operate(under government supervision though). In Syria, they are outlawed. In Egypt, people can use Websites like Facebook and Youtube. In syria ,these sites are banned.

Clearly anyone with any sense and compassion can see the perfection of Zionist Terrorism against the Palestinians People. Every action has equal and opposite reaction, is third law of Newtonian Mechanics. In terms of human interaction we can modify it to read every action has at least some reaction. Thus when some people react [wrongly or rightly depending on ones point of view] to Grave Injustices-we can never hear the end of the propaganda news channels-For example, recent attacks in Mumbai, assuming they were carried out by Kashmiris, as a reaction to India's state terrorism against kashmiris-179 people were killed-I do a body count and for me every dead person counts whatever the label-Thus 1000 current gazans body count is bigger than israeli body count and those in mumbai-but is something Effective being done-The answer is a deafening, No!

I post here comments by Prof. Francis Boyle, who has extensive experience in Laws pertaining to Genocides for some thought and reflection:

The US promotes Israeli genocide against Palestinians
Tue, 13 Jan 2009 18:55:49 GMT

By Professor Francis A. Boyle

As long ago as October 19, 2000, the then United Nations Human Rights Commission (now Council) condemned Israel for inflicting “war crimes” and “crimes against humanity” upon the Palestinian people, most of whom are Muslims.

The reader has a general idea of what a war crime is, so I am not going to elaborate upon that term here. But there are different degrees of heinousness for war crimes. In particular are the more serious war crimes denominated “grave breaches” of the Fourth Geneva Convention.

Since the outbreak of the first Intifada in 1987, the world has seen those heinous war crimes inflicted every day by Israel against the Palestinian people living in occupied Palestine: e.g., willful killing of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli army and by Israel's illegal paramilitary settlers.

These Israeli “grave breaches” of the Fourth Geneva Convention mandate universal prosecution for the perpetrators and their commanders, whether military or civilian, including and especially Israel's political leaders.

But I want to focus for a moment on Israel's “crimes against humanity” against the Palestinian people-as determined by the UN Human Rights Commission itself, set up pursuant to the requirements of the United Nations Charter. What are “crimes against humanity”?

This concept goes all the way back to the Nuremberg Charter of 1945 for the trial of the major Nazi war criminals in Europe. In the Nuremberg Charter of 1945, drafted by the United States Government, there was created and inserted a new type of international crime specifically intended to deal with the Nazi persecution of the Jewish people:

Crimes against humanity: namely, murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation, and other inhumane acts committed against any civilian population, before or during the war, or persecutions on political, racial or religious grounds in execution of or in connection with any crime within the jurisdiction of the Tribunal, whether or not in violation of the domestic law of the country where perpetrated.

The paradigmatic example of “crimes against humanity” is what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jewish people. This is where the concept of “crimes against humanity” came from.

And this is what the UN Human Rights Commission determined that Israel is currently doing to the Palestinian people: crimes against humanity. Expressed in legal terms, this is just like what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jews.

That is the significance of the formal determination by the UN Human Rights Commission that Israel has inflicted “crimes against humanity” upon the Palestinian people. The Commission chose this well-known and long-standing legal term of art quite carefully and deliberately based upon the evidence it had compiled.

Furthermore, the Nuremberg “crimes against humanity” are the historical and legal precursor to the international crime of genocide as defined by the 1948 Genocide Convention.

The theory here was that what Hitler and the Nazis did to the Jewish people was so horrific that it required a special international treaty that would codify and universalize the Nuremberg concept of “crimes against humanity.” And that treaty ultimately became the 1948 Genocide Convention.

Article II of the Genocide Convention defines the international crime of genocide in relevant part as follows:

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part.
As documented by Israeli historian Ilan Pappe in his seminal book The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestin (2006), Israel's genocidal policy against the Palestinians has been unremitting, extending from before the very foundation of the State of Israel in 1948, and is ongoing and even intensifying against the 1.5 million Palestinians living in Gaza.

Zionism's “final solution” to Israel's much touted “demographic threat” allegedly posed by the very existence of the Palestinians has always been genocide.

Certainly, Israel and its predecessors-in-law-the Zionist agencies, forces, and terrorist gangs-have committed genocide against the Palestinian people that actually started on or about 1948 and has continued apace until today in violation of Genocide Convention Articles II(a), (b), and (c).

For at least the past six decades, the Israeli government and its predecessors-in-law - the Zionist agencies, forces, and terrorist gangs - have ruthlessly implemented a systematic and comprehensive military, political, and economic campaign with the intent to destroy in substantial part the national, ethnical, racial, and different religious (Jews versus Muslims and Christians) group constituting the Palestinian people.

This Zionist/Israeli campaign has consisted of killing members of the Palestinian people in violation of Genocide Convention Article II(a).

This Zionist/Israeli campaign has also caused serious bodily and mental harm to the Palestinian people in violation of Genocide Convention Article II(b).

This Zionist/Israeli campaign has also deliberately inflicted on the Palestinian people conditions of life calculated to bring about their physical destruction in substantial part in violation of Article II(c) of the Genocide Convention.

Article I of the Genocide Convention requires all contracting parties such as the United States “to prevent and to punish” genocide. Yet to the contrary, historically the “Jewish” state's criminal conduct against the Palestinians has been financed, armed, equipped, supplied and politically supported by the “Christian” United States.
Although the United States is a founding sponsor of, and a contracting party to, both the Nuremberg Charter and the Genocide Convention, as well as the United Nations Charter, these legal facts have never made any difference to the United States when it comes to its blank-check support for Israel and their joint and severable criminal mistreatment of the Palestinians-truly the wretched of the earth!

The world has not yet heard even one word uttered by the United States and its NATO allies in favor of “humanitarian intervention” against Israel in order to protect the Palestinian people, let alone a “responsibility to protect” the Palestinians from Zionist/Israeli genocide.

The United States, its NATO allies, and the Great Powers on the UN Security Council would not even dispatch a UN Charter Chapter 6 monitoring force to help protect the Palestinians, let alone even contemplate any type of UN Charter Chapter 7 enforcement actions against Israel - shudder the thought!.

The doctrine of “humanitarian intervention” so readily espoused elsewhere when US foreign policy goals are allegedly at stake has been clearly proved to be a joke and a fraud when it comes to stopping the ongoing and accelerating Israeli campaign of genocide against the Palestinian people.

Rather than rein in the Israelis - which would be possible just by turning off the funding pipeline - the United States government, the US Congress, and US taxpayers instead support the “Jewish” state to the tune of about 4 billion dollars per year, without whose munificence this instance of genocide - and indeed conceivably the State of Israel itself - would not be possible.

What the world witnesses here is (yet another) case of “dishumanitarian intervention” or “humanitarian extermination” by the United States and Israel against the Palestinians and Palestine.

In today's world genocide pays so long as it is done at the behest of the United States and its de jure or de facto allies such as Israel.

Of course miracles can always happen. But I anticipate no fundamental change in America's support for the Israeli campaign of genocide against the Palestinians during the tenure of the Obama/Clinton administration.

On 8 April 1993 and 13 September 1993 the author won two World Court Orders overwhelmingly in favor of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the rump Yugoslavia to cease and desist from committing all acts of genocide against the Bosnians.

Dr. Sher Alam,

You know, I appreciate your contributions, and I enjoy reading what you have to say. But someone has already mentioned this before, and I will mention it again... would you please stop copy-pasting entire articles into your own posts? Paraphrase portions if you will, but there are real copyright problems with using someone else's work to express your point of view, even if you acknowledge the author. It may at some point become a headache for Eric, and it's certainly a pain for many people who do not have the stomach for reading another entire round of articles after reading Eric's piece on Eric's website. I ask you as a fellow traveler in this community to kindly link your external articles, rather than pasting them into your posts. Thanks.

Chatman-Thanks: OK I understand what you are saying-But if I find an article, which provides patterns of thought that further support the gist of our discussion I post them in their entirety-I post the ones which echo my thoughts etc for reasons stated above-These are posted for completeness-however keeping in mind your suggestion, I may just post the link-but in that case people might find me difficult to follow-Moreover due to time constraints, I cannot reword articles which are so close to my own current thoughts on the subject-This is entirely possible, since logic and reasoning sometimes leads to similarity in thinking-Also it is refreshing and interesting to find that fair-minded people can come to the same conclusions though they come from different initial conditions-

Venezuela severs ties with Israel
Thu, 15 Jan 2009 02:28:59 GMT

Venezuela has broken diplomatic ties with Israel over its deadly military offensive in the Gaza Strip, according to a government statement.

"The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in accordance with its vision of world peace, in solidarity and respect for human rights, has decided to definitively break diplomatic ties with Israel," the statement read on Wednesday.

Caracas said it made its decision due to the "cruel persecution of the Palestinian people, directed by Israeli authorities."

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez expelled Israeli Ambassador, Shalom Cohen last week to express its dismay at Israel's military campaign in the densely populated Gaza Strip

On Wednesday, the Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has climbed to over 1,000.

After 9/11 Bin Laden said that the attack was because of the presence of US troops, infidels, on holy Saudi ground. Nor a ward was said about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Before the Second Lebanon War, the Hezbullah fighters were deployed on the Israeli border, launched frequent terrorist attacks and fired rockets. After that war, two and a half years ago, NOT a single rocket was been fired by Hezbullah at Israel. Eric should ask himself, why not? He will find the answer in the words of Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader, about his decision to start that war by abducting two Israeli soldiers on July 12, 2006: “We did not think, even 1 percent, that the capture would lead to a war at this time and of this magnitude. You ask me, if I had known on July 11 ... that the operation would lead to such a war, would I do it? I say no, absolutely not.”
What is more, the regular Lebanese army and the UN are deployed in Hezbollah land and there is not a single armed Hezbullah fighter on the Israeli border. All that make the Second Lebanese war a success from the point of view of Israel.
I am sure Eric is familiar with the previous foreign minister of the Hamas government, Dr. Azahar, and one of the most prominent leaders of Hamas. Here is what he said:
"Palestine means Palestine in its entirety - from the [Mediterranean] Sea to the [Jordan] River. We can not give up a single inch of it. Therefore, we will not recognize Israeli enemy's [right] to a single inch."
Being an expert of the subject, Eric knows that Hamas is doctrinally committed to the destruction of Israel. It is not fighting to end the occupation. It is fighting to end the existence of Israel. That is why thousands of rockets, designed to kill civilians. were launched at Israeli towns and villages. When a truce was declared six months ago, the rocket fire did not stop. One wonders if Eric is aware that in some areas in the south of Israel, the residents have only 15 seconds to find shelter, after the alarm sounds. Can he imagine how a mother, who has children at school, feels during these alarms? Why would Eric think that Israel should allow such attacks on its citizens? Or maybe he agrees with Hamas’ goals?...
And why expect Eric to even notice the war crimes committed by Hamas: Targeting Israeli civilians, using Palestinian civilians as human shields, and seeking the destruction of a member state of the United Nations.
It is unfortunate that Eric is ignoring the fact that the suffering of the population in Gaza is the direct result of the war the Hamas has started.
Israel will do its best to protect its citizens, if Eric likes it or not.

Even if all you say about the Lebanon conflict is true, the subsequent 'quieting' of Hizbollah arose because Lebanon is a sovereign nation interested in preventing future Israeli attacks. Gaza, by contrast, is not truly sovereign; you can't persuade a government sheltering Hamas to dissuade them from antagonizing Israelis, because Hamas IS the government. Hence, the collective punishment strategy Israel used against the Lebanese in Beirut is unlikely to work the same way in Gaza.

That said, I think it our moral modeling has reached a limit when Hamas' ineffectual rocket attacks raise greater concern than much more destructive Israeli acts of war. Last I checked, denying an entire geographic region essential resources through military blockade constitutes an act of war meriting retaliation, even of the ineffectual kind. And if we in the West are so keen to blame the Palestinian civilian populace for choosing Hamas in the first place, why is it so reprehensible for them to construe Israeli civilians as complicit in the acts of their own belligerent government?

It is a peculiarity of modern norms of war that ineffectual attacks targeting civilians are more condemnable than extremely destructive attacks targeting belligerents, but necessarily implicating non-combatants. Ultimately, the evil perpetrated by Hamas' largely toothless targeting are about 3 persons per year. By contrast, the evil perpetrated by Israeli use of heavy weaponry in densely populated Gaza amounts to almost 100 dead per day. At some point, moral equivalency rooted in WWII-derived laws of war must give way to the facts on the ground. The Israelis, with American support, have starved and isolated the Palestinian people, and these acts have contributed to their extremism. Now, these trapped people are subject to unrelenting assault by aircraft carrying high-explosive ordinance, and by tanks and artillery capable of destroying entire buildings while targeting single persons. There's an important practical difference between randomly targeting civilians with low power ordinance, and deliberately targeting a belligerent in a crowd of civilians with high power ordinance... the latter ensures civilian casualties, while the former does not. And if the ends of our war laws are to limit civilian casualties, the law cannot ignore the factual context.

Finally, in response to the extreme rhetoric of Hamas. People tend to forget that Hamas' origins are as an apolitical insurgent organization need not have carried over to their governance policies. The burdens of governance often incentivize a ruling party to moderating pragmatism; recognizing the existence of Israel would probably have come in short order. The transition from liberation organization to governing organization provides groups like Hamas with a window for moderating the extremist elements in their midst. Had the Israelis and their American sponsors cautiously "given democracy a chance" in Gaza, it is possible that Hamas technocrats may have been able to shout down Hamas warriors. Instead, Israel has forced Gaza's government into an almost immediate war footing by denying the Palestinian people essential supplies. Hence, even if the governing credo of Hamas is uniformly anti-Israeli these days, this continuing extremism may be a response to the iron-fisted actions of Gaza's Israeli and Egyptian neighbors.

Nobody is saying that Israel should not protect its citizens. Moreover, Israel has been punishing Palestinians for electing Hamas-However, at more deeper level Hamas is only used as an excuse-to continue its savage policy against Palestinians-Israel is a nuclear armed state, backed by the hegemonic bully US [whose policy in layman terms is : MY way or the Highway] so it has many if not uncountable number of options-Also it has zionist moles like the "arab" facist dictators like mubarak working for their interests- Thus my point is if Hamas or any palestinians were a threat to Israel We would say Israel is the Victim-But we should go by facts and that shows that Israel is a THREAT-just by simple mathematics-i.e. by actual military, political, economical,.....counts-Perhaps some fanatics can be fooled by Israel arguments, but any compassionate sensible, neutral person cannot be-
In short the STATE of Israel should learn some compassion-and fair play-

You wrote:

This is not true, since even the propaganda channels [CNN, Fox etc] have reported from time to time that laden has said to the effect That since Zionist Israel and its Hegemonic US kills and maims muslim civilians including children and women and other non-militants, others reserve the right to do so-basically eye for eye, kind of deal.
Moreover Hamas is in no position to start any wars-Gazans have been under siege, like concentrations camps, so from their point of view they fire rockets out of desperation-It is clear that the rockets do not cause major damage-Simple calculation gives a ratio of 100: 1, for 1300 Gazans killed only 13 israelis died-which proves that they have a point-
At least from their point of view-Imagine Hamas had Israel firepower and they are doing to Israelis what the latter are doing to them-I would be totally against Hamas actions-
My point of view is that any more aggressive party must be restrained-so that the killing is minimized if not totally eliminated-I am totally against the so called "modern war-fare" which only is beneficial to the greedy nation-states, huge companies i.e. military-industrial complex -
I think that as so called "modern humans" we lack the basic consciousness to be fair , in fact we are quite primitive in our thinking ruled by our greed and selfishness-Nazis call it survival of the fittest, I call it the survival of morons-survive for what? just to kill others different than you-it is an absolutely crappy argument-The stupidity and the twice electon of GWBUSH to the highest office in US is a testament to our total lack of sense-If we can elect a moron like him, who ends up killing millions of innocent people as a response to some terrorist attacks which killed 3000 or less people-It is ridiculously disproportionate since it gives a kill ratio of 1:1000-Of-course many people now know the reasons of this response to 9/11-De-facto Afghanistan and Iraq are now American colonies-

To put in bluntly, the Israeli's are in the sh*t, despite a sophisticated media campaign,
they are finding it increasingly difficult to convince the world they are acting in self defence,
particularly as the casualty rates of each side do not support this claim.

International pressure is building particularly in Europe, the shelling of a UN compound
with white phosphorus yesterday prompted condemnation from several world leaders including British PM Gordon Brown and UN chief Ban Ki Moon. Their dilemma is if they stop now Hamas will claim victory as Israel failed to completely destroy them, this will be seen as a defeat at home too and the Olmert government will be finished. On the other hand if they push on they risk further international alienation particularly if the civilian casualty rates continue to escalate.

Once the fighting is over, and the humanitarian agencies move in, if they can't keep images of the horrific aftermath of war off the front pages, this could be a PR calamity for the Israeli's.

I only hope that what you're saying comes to pass. As far as I can see in North America, there is still is a persistent and deep ignorance on this issue. The war is safely off the front pages, and we barely see the gut-wrenching footage of Palestinian suffering in Gaza, aside from a few 'fringe' websites. Ann Coulter's hysterics on "The View" take up more airtime than this Gaza crisis. Meanwhile, noted intellectuals like Alan Dershowitz and Susan Estrich engage in sophomoric defense of Israeli activities... "They can do whatever they want because of the Holocaust..." etc. etc. And then we get the self-defense maniacs who, ignoring the brutal effectiveness of Israeli 'self defense,' continue to couch IDF callousness and mistargeting as legitimate defense of sovereignty.

One thing that this incident shows in sharp relief is this; no one gives a damn about the Palestinian people. The Israeli politicians have no qualms seeing them exterminated, while the Arab states shed crocodile tears on their behalf while denying Palestinian refugees citizenship, in hopes of preserving their sense of anger and helplessness.

Of all the boneheaded idiocy exuded by all parties to this problem, the real victims here are the Palestinians... like animals in the slaughterhouse, they can claim no longer claim anyone to be acting as their real friend and benefactor.

Although your article, 'Eradicating Hamas' was written on Jan. 12/09, I have only just now read it. It is exactly what I feel is happening and I only hope that many, many people get to read it. How sad that people think this will 'win' something for them (Israel). I have always had empathy for Jewish people, but have become very angry in the past few years at what they have done to the Palestinians. After taking away a lot of their land, burning down their olive groves, kicking them out of their ancestral homes, and now killing them, it is no wonder that Hamas shoots off their only weapons - the rockets. You cannot blame them - they are trying to defend their land. I think this is a massacre - and where is our government and why aren't they speaking out?? So sad.

Judahists’ tactical brilliance is only exceeded by their strategic blindness.

Their primogenitor Judah sold his brother Joseph into slavery claiming “Mission Accomplished”, but the Lord made him eat humble pie within a few years.

Joseph forgave Judah, invited him to Egypt, gave him lands. But the Judahist hatred of Josephites as well as their nefarious deeds lingered.

Within 200 years Ramses the Pharaoh had made life miserable for all Israelites. Moses rescued them in Exodus and assigned them places in the Promise Lands. But after Solomon the Judahists from Judea split from Josephite Israel and other 11 Tribes, fought them 500 years, destroyed Israel, killed all cousin Tribes (save Levites) again claiming “Mission Accomplished”, only soon to be enslaved by Nebuchadnezzar. Persian rescued them.

800 years after Moses the Judahists founded Judahism, adopting Babylonian Talmud in lieu of Torah of Moses and faith of Abraham. Unlike Christianity and Islam, this new non-Abrahamic faith has no concept of the “Hereafter”, a euphemism for the future. Thus its oblivion to future consequences of present acts, e.g. moving into Palestine, evicting Palestinians, raze of Gaza.

A just solution to the Judahist/Muslim tussle has to be based on the Bible and history.

The land of the Judahists was Judea in the south. Today, the Judahists claiming Josephite Israel is like someone killing his uncle, and then claiming his inheritance, and also sympathy. Boohoo, now I am an orphan. In any Court of Law such would be hauled to the gallows.

A just solution would be giving the Judahists ancient Judea (with ancient boundaries some 20 miles south of Jerusalem), and Israel for all the rest (Levites, Muslims, Christians, others).

Of Toynbee’s 5 living civilization (Hellenized West, Christian Russia, Islam, Indics, and Sinics), the last 2 are regional, racial. Christian is other-worldly. That leaves Hellenized West and Islam as the only two urban civilizations (Athens, Mecca) of post-agrarian Trading era. Both ruled by Demos, 5% moneyed males ruling over 95% rest (women, plebs, helots, slaves).

Justice minded Socrates in Athens and Mohammed in Mecca sought reforms. Socrates was done in by Democracy because his Philosopher-King Republic was top-down. Mohammed won against his Meccan Demos because his bottom-up system was based on Universality, Rights, Justice, Emancipation of women from housework and child rearing, Peace, Meritocracy, Free Enterprise, and Free Trade.

Mohammed, the 7th century small businessman trader was the first and only one in history to have routed the combined forces of Big Business (Umayyads), Bankers (Banu Abbas), Trade Monopolist infidels, and Judahists. Today Global battle lines are exactly the same as were in microcosm of 7th century Arabia. No wonder Corporate West fears Islam using Mohammedan strategy/tactics will do an encore.

Mohammedan tactics:
1. Stalemate letting foe realize he can not win
2. Peace Treaty even on unfavorable terms
3. Victory without warfare

Mohammedan Strategy:
1. Economic warfare
2. Neutralize Judahists, then Capitalists capitulate soon

OBL knew what he was doing. In 7 years he has achieved much.

Corporate Capitalist socio-economics is Positive Interest Rates, Income/Spending Taxation. Mohammedan socio-economics is Zero-Interest, Asset Taxation. As interest rates zero in Corporate Capitaldom, and as Incomes and Spendings decline, Western governments will be forced to tax Assets just to survive, essentially becoming Mohammedan in all but name.

What a wonderful time to have at the helm Obama (a declared non-Muslim, but essentially a Mohammedan). BTW, working on his campaign was a thrill of a lifetime.

As I have indicated in my postings-Aggressiveness and for example over Aggressivenes in Military affairs, will Ins certainly be the downfall of any nation, however powerful-
Today I read a brilliant article by Jon Basil Utley-which makes this point in the bin-laden strategy context-in his article, viz
How Bin Laden Bankrupted America
The five ways
by Jon Basil Utley

As many thinking people have been warning that the un-holy alliance of Neocons and
Fundies in the USA that has resorted to mindless aggressiveness-will come home to roost-
Obama probably [with high chance] will continue this march, by all indications and sooner or later the result will become even more obvious-
My colorful funny law of evolution is:
Mindless Over aggressiveness or simple plain Over aggressiveness will Ins surely eliminate you from the "Food Chain"!
More seriously, War creates "prosperity" but it is a huge Waste of resources-which in the long-run slowly but surely contributes to the destruction of the war-mongering society:
As Utley puts it:
"Fifth, war spending deficits were in effect a massive Keynesian pump-priming operation, bound in the end to leave an economic hangover. Wars make the economy boom with seeming prosperity, but they are actually incredible wastes of resources. Over $200 million for each new fighter plane, $1,000 a day for mercenaries, massive corruption and incompetence in the military occupation – even bin Laden could not have anticipated how costly the war would become."

Obama said:
"In the course of our history, only a handful of generations have been asked to confront challenges as serious as the ones we face right now," he said. "Our nation is at war. Our economy is in crisis."

First, as I have said, the US foreign Policy of dominating Poor Nations and the Middle East and other countries like Japan etc will not stop with Bush-Bush was just one type of tyrant-This is proven as Obama is just repeating the same mantra as GW Bush, "We are at War":a false story
But the question arises Who the War is against?
In reality it is not a war, but just an attempt to spread american influence illegally against people, who Cannot Defend themselves adequately-I am quite sure, America a Gutless cheat, that it is will never pick on anyone who has even half-its strength-! Israeli officer arrested for saying no to Gaza war
Tue, 20 Jan 2009 22:08:55 GMT

An Israeli military officer has been arrested for refusing to kill Palestinians in the three-week offensive against Gaza.

Israel arrested Noam Livne in his home in Tel Aviv on Monday.

Livne cited ethical reasons for his objection to the war against civilians, saying that the army's top brass would not accept his reasons.

This is the second time that Livne disobeyed the army. In 2001, he refused to go to war and was sent to prison.

"This will be the second time that I am being brought in," he told Vita magazine a few hours before his arrest.

"It happened before, eight years ago, when I said 'no' for the first time," he added.

Tel Aviv launched a ruthless military campaign against the Gaza Strip on December 27 with the aim of eliminating Hamas, the democratically-elected ruling party of the coastal region.

At least 1,340 Palestinians were killed and 5,320 others were wounded during the conflict, according to Press TV correspondents in Gaza.
